Toward

My Bird Garden including sunflowers,
saffron, millet and thistle.

I will face toward the east and pray for Jerusalem and its peace.

I will turn toward my troubles and face them.

I will turn away from my evil ways and turn toward God and His perfect ways.

I will face toward Jesus to keep my eyes on Him, letting the world fade away.

The barn cats look toward my front door as they anticipate my emergence with their daily ration of food.

The cattle in the field hear the tractor and move toward the barn because they know hay is on the way.

During the night the sunflowers turn their heads toward the east waiting for the sun.

We look toward the thing we trust. We hide, we turn away from, avoid the thing we fear.

So simple, yet so profound.
