My whole life I have heard: “You think too much.”

But thinking was my safe place, my rock to land on, my cave of wonders.

I have always had a vibrant thought life.

… except for when it got negative …

 

Now-a-days, I see people struggling to think clearly, trying to remember where they put their debit card, trying to bring up the name of the thing they came into the store to buy or where they saw the project they intended to begin – the whole reason they took the shopping trip.

This frightens me.

Perhaps fear makes our thinking faulty, jagged, filled with static.

Maybe all the information we pour into our heads makes the simple things pour out.

Father, give me a clear mind … a mind set on the things of Your Kingdom … a mind ready to hear You and obey … a mind sharp enough to work efficiently … Father, wipe off the cobwebs, sweep out the dirt, carry out the trash.

I want to live for You.
