The gift rested on the stairs waiting to be picked up and brought inside…

There are so many gifts I have received: Christmases, birthdays, anniversaries, mother’s days, and just because. And I’ve written so many thank you notes, but not as many as the gifts I have received.

I have a difficult relationship with gifts. I always feel like I must pay it back.

But I can’t … not really:
